Task briefs

The first task brief is read while the contestants are still in their seats. The second task brief is read once the contestants have taken to the stage. The briefs for the task are as follows:

Come up with a very civilised-sounding title for yourself, and where you are from.

You have 20 seconds.

Go inside of the rocket and put on the suit found in the bag.

After that, emerge from the rocket as flamboyantly as possible and shout out your title and your place of origin.

You have 30 seconds to get dressed.

The most flamboyant attempt wins.

Task notes

  • While still in their seats, each contestant is provided with a piece of card and a marker pen to write down their title and place of origin.
  • The contestants then relocate to the stage, where they stand side-by-side, each in front of a small rocket-themed playhouse.
  • In front of each contestant, there is a drawstring bag containing an animal-themed onesie.
  • While it’s not clear from the task brief, the contestants are required to remain inside their rockets for the full 30 seconds, regardless of how long it actually takes them to dress in their onesie.
  • The contestants are then called out of their rockets by Jaakko, one at a time, to introduce themselves.
  • Although the middle part of the task (putting on their onesies inside the rockets) is clearly based on the Pop up a tent and pop on a onesie’ task, the part of the task which is actually scored has nothing to do with how quickly or completely the contestants dress themselves. Scoring is instead based entirely on how flamboyantly they perform the introductions they had created for themselves in response to the first task brief.
  • Since tasks must be categorised on this site as either ‘original’ or ‘adapted’, this one has been categorised as the latter, though it’s clearly a hybrid of an existing idea with a completely original one.
