Wil redeems his chip vouchers
Wil enters the room and comments that “this looks like a lot of fuss”.
After reading the task brief, he says that the task seems fun, but also admits that he’s not sure how to do it.
He walks around, popping balloons randomly and appearing to catch a few hot chips.
After he comments that he is worried about slipping on the sauce on the floor, describing it as “an occupational health and safety issue”, Tom tells him to be careful.
Wil continues to walk around, unintentionally popping balloons above him, and claims that he has no control.
After he pops another balloon, something falls to the floor, and Wil picks it up. He discovers that it is a voucher for one large serving of hot chips, which will be delivered in 2 minutes.
Tom advises him that he has 2 minutes and 35 seconds remaining, so Wil redeems his voucher and then, as Tom leaves, finds a second voucher on the ground and redeems that one, too.
While waiting for the chip delivery, he pops another balloon, and a third voucher falls onto his arm, but he decides that he doesn’t have time to redeem it.
Tom delivers the chips to Wil, and he places them all in his basket, just as his time is up.
When Wil asks if he can leave the room, Tom says yes, but that he’ll take the chips. As Tom goes to grab the basket from Wil, he slips on the sauce he has been warning Wil about, and falls flat on his face, his tablet flying across the room.
In the studio, Wil says that the whole way through the task, lesser Tom had been patronising to him because he’s the “old guy with bad hips”, telling him “Oh, don’t slip on the chips, old man. Don’t slip.” (thus coining the episode title).
Thanks to the vouchers, Wil collects a total of 332 chips, and earns 5 points.
