Eero and Pamela film a love triangle

Eero and Pamela take some time wondering who the famous person might be, and how they could possibly know, before deciding that it’s probably just Pilvi.

As they brainstorm, Eero motions to Pamela’s very pregnant belly, indicating that they could focus their scene on her pregnancy. Pamela, still believing that Pilvi is the famous person to be added to their scene, reminds Eero that Pilvi is also female; Eero replies that she does not necessarily have to be in their scene.

Eero continues to brainstorm, wondering if they should add sci-fi elements to their cliff-hanger, and proposes that they film a scene wherein Pamela is terminally ill, and gives birth to herself so she can continue to live. Pamela humours Eero, but clearly finds the idea ridiculous.

Pamela is particularly star-struck when Esko enters the room, but is able to pull herself together, and she and Eero explain their scene to Esko: the two are lovers, and Eero’s character will successfully propose to Pamela over breakfast. Esko increases the drama by offering a suggestion: what if the two characters are (presumably unknowingly) twins? Eero pulls off his hat in shock, and Esko simply laughs.

In their scene, Eero proposes to Pamela, who happily accepts, then tells him she has to tell him something. She stands, revealing her very pregnant belly, and informs him that they are pregnant. The camera focuses on Eero’s happy grin (and his seeming inability to keep from laughing, which is a recurring theme throughout the scene), and he hugs Pamela.

Eero then says that he also has something to reveal but, before he can do so, Esko walks into the room. Eero is shocked to be faced with his long-lost father, and asks where he has been. Esko darkly replies that he has been “far away”, before hugging Pamela, expressing his relief and joy over her pregnancy.

Suspicious, Eero questions how the two know each other, as Esko has been missing for years. The three awkwardly look at one another, and then Eero finally asks “Are you the father, Father?”. As Pamela pulls an overly upset face, Eero picks up a basket filled with swaddling, and reveals his secret: not only is what’s in the basket not theirs (his and Pamela’s), but it’s also not his and Esko’s. As Eero’s expression shifts between overdramatised anger and barely-contained laughter, the sound of a wailing baby can be heard, implying that Eero is in fact holding a baby in the basket.

In the studio, Jaakko comments on Eero’s laughter throughout the scene, and questions whether it was ‘breaking’ (which it quite obviously was). Eero, however, defends it as “well thought out laughter”. Jaakko plays along with this explanation, noting that Eero’s laughter was “carefully crafted to be slightly deranged”. Eero, unable to keep himself from laughing again, agrees.

Jaakko awards both teams 5 points. He also awards Eero and Pamela a bonus point for their “multifaceted, meandering, and sensitive acting”.
