Jenny plays the hero
Jenny plays the hero, Scout Jimmy, in Lloyds’ martial arts film, and also briefly plays his brother, Scout Timmy.
She commits to the role and plays it seriously, delivering the dialogue very well throughout.
During the training montage sequence, she acts out the creation of the fire by placing some cardboard sticks and tubes in a pile and then rubbing sticks together to try and create a spark, before finally creating the illusion of fire by adding some orange acetate ‘flames’.
Her whittling scene begins with her actually whittling a thick piece of wood, and then cuts to her blowing on a completed wooden figurine.
She shines shoes by simply placing a shoe in a hole in a tree, and then shining it by rubbing a cloth vigorously over it.
Tom Gleeson awards Jenny 3 points for her “wonderful performance”, which he notes “really held the whole film together”.
