Tom is the biggest idiot of them all

Tom writes down the message as Paul reads out the letters over the radio.

As Paul reaches the word ‘FASTEST’, Tom guesses the letters before Paul says them. Tom then predicts that the next letter will be ‘Whiskey’, assuming that Paul will be spelling out ‘WINS’. However, when Paul then says “Lima”, Tom sticks around to listen to the rest of the message.

After discovering that the task is one where the fastest contestant loses, he slowly leaves the study and heads to the balcony, where he asks “What am I missing?” before throwing his scrunched-up plane into the bin.

Back in the study, he tells Paul, over the radio, that he should have gone and had a beer or something.

In the studio, Tom admits that he is arguably the biggest idiot of them all, as he’d heard the whole message but had still completed the task quickly.

It’s revealed that he completed the task in 9 minutes and 58 seconds, which is just 24 seconds faster than Ben (who had not listened to the entire message), and earns Tom 2 points.
