Christian’s “horizontal bagpipe”

Christian’s instrument consists of a whole, raw chicken, half of which he has wrapped in duct tape.

He then appears to have taken an actual instrument – some kind of whistle - and shoved it up the chicken’s backside, to turn his chicken into a musical instrument, dubbing his creation a “horizontal bagpipe”.

Given that Christian’s musical instrument is made almost entirely of raw chicken, he makes the very wise decision to try to play it instead of eating it. Claiming to be playing Danny Boy, Christian shoves his body weight down onto the chicken with each note as he sings, as though he is giving the bird chest compressions (Atle even jokes, in the studio, that Christian was close to bring the chicken back to life).

Despite the presence of an actual musical instrument inside of the chicken, Christian is unable to produce any kind of music from it.

In the studio, Marte (correctly) questions if Christian’s attempt is valid, as a significant amount of it was not only inedible, but was an actual musical instrument.

After making Christian wait in suspense for his answer, Atle disqualifies him.
