Mastertask notes:

In this version of the task, the contestants are instructed to make an edible musical instrument, and then either attempt to play it and be scored based on how ‘authentic’ it sounded, or else eat it within three minutes for a guaranteed 3 points.

Task briefs

The first task brief is laid on the table in the lab. The second task brief is given to them by Olli, once they have finished making their instruments. The briefs for the task are as follows:

Make an edible instrument.

Buy what you need.

May the best instrument win.

Play your instrument.

Most authentic sound wins.

If you choose not to play, you must eat your instrument within three minutes.

If you manage to do that, you get 3 points.

Task notes

For those contestants who decide to play their instrument, Olli brings out a device consisting of a funnel, some tubing, and a leather bag, which he claims can determine how authentic the instruments sound.
