Lucy uses Alex’s notes

It is revealed at the start of her attempt that Lucy does not have a driver’s license.

She runs the first signal, and initially drives in a large circle to return to Alex, seemingly too uncomfortable with the ride-on sweeper to attempt to operate it in reverse.

Lucy does make an attempt to operate the sweeper in reverse by the time she gets back to Alex, but nearly runs over his feet as she does.

Restarting the course, after her quick driving lesion from Alex, Lucy activates her sweeper’s brushes just as the first signals change, but then gets called back by Alex again at the second signal.

Alex compliments Lucy for obeying the amber signal, but informs her that in order to obey the purple signal, she must get out of her vehicle and walk around it before continuing on.

Lucy then reaches the third signal, but is then called back for failing to meet the requirements of the blue signal.

After several more failed attempts, Lucy decides to just dismount from the sweeper and run back to Alex on foot, to receive her next driving lesson. This allows her to get close enough to Alex to see that he is holding a sheet which lists all of the signals and their rules, so she takes it from him.

Following Alex’s notes, Lucy successfully finishes the course in 24 minutes and 30 seconds, and earns third place.
