Susan almost kills a crew member

At the start of Susan’s attempt, she reveals that she does not have a driver’s license, and does not need one, as a Londoner.

Susan is called back by Alex at the first signal. She drives in a large circle, rather than reversing, resulting in her running into the first signal twice, and nearly running over the member of the production crew who was turning the signal flags.

After several failed attempts at turning, Susan finally makes her way back to traffic school, where she is informed about the meaning of the amber signal.

Susan starts her journey again, but the signal flags change just as she reaches the first stop, and she does not know what the new signal means, so she is called back again by Alex.

Unlike most of the other contestants, Susan does not write down any of the signal rules, instead choosing to rely on her RADA-trained memory to remember them.

After a few more rounds of traffic school, Susan begins a successful run of the course. Her first flag is amber, so she turns on the brushes. She calls back to Alex to ask if she should then just leave them on and, when he does not respond, she decides to do just that.

Susan stops when she comes across a second amber flag at the end of the course, and questions what she should do, since her brushes are already on. She then makes the executive decision that she has already fulfilled the signal’s requirements, and so confidently drives onwards to the finish line, yelling “You can’t stop me!” at Alex, as she does so.

In the studio, Greg says he is astonished to be in a position to tell Susan that she is a worse driver than Lucy Beaumont. Alex stands up for Susan, pointing out that she actually learned how to drive the machine relatively quickly, and was also able to time her arrival at the flags better than the other contestants had .

Susan completes the task in 13 minutes and 50 seconds, and earns second place.
