Sofie is confused by a simple instruction

In order to help Sofie read the task brief, Mark moves the garden arch close enough to her that when he subsequently lights the fuse, Sofie hits it in an attempt to put it out. However, for some reason, she doesn’t continue to try to put out the flame. Instead, she pulls the paper off of the garden arch after it has already burst into flame, drops it on the driveway, and then extinguishes any remaining embers by carefully stepping on the paper.

She is only able to make out the ‘elf’ part of ‘massage the elf’, but has saved the entirety of ‘gok hovedet’ (hit the head), so she focuses on that. However, instead of spotting the mannequin’s head and immediately making the connection that it is that which needs to be hit, Sofie picks up the parrot, asking if that’s the relevant item, as it makes a “gok” sound. She then quickly corrects herself, after realising that she was thinking of a chicken, not a parrot. Sofie then wonders if she’s meant to hit her own head on something, and so bumps her head into Mark’s shoulder.

Sofie looks over the remaining items on the garden arch, and removes the salmon from the net, inadvertently solving that part of the task.Returning to the burnt task brief, she is able to make out that she needs to eliminate the draught beer, so she pours it out onto the grass near the garden arch.

She then picks up the parrot and tries hitting it against Mark, accidentally breaking its tail as she does so. She puts the parrot back together, and warns any children watching that they should not be violent with real parrots. Sofie is later credited with discovering the parrot’s quiz, but the footage of this is not shown.

Sofie cannot let the ‘gok hovedet’ instruction go, and so turns her attention back to it. She repeats “gok gok”, wondering if that is what she is meant to do (i.e. cluck like a chicken). She then picks up the parrot and shakes it, once again clucking like a chicken.

Sofie eats some of the candy, incorrectly believing that the candy needs to be eliminated, while she continues to mull over her ‘hit the head’ problem, and then tries rubbing her own scalp as a possible solution.

She looks over the garden arch items one more time, and then asks Mark what she’s meant to do with the mannequin head. Finally, everything clicks, and Sofie smacks it with her hand.

In the studio, Mark reveals that Sofie had said “gok” 24 times during her 10 minutes.

Sofie attempts to argue that she had ignored the artichoke, but Lasse rejects her claim.

Sofie solves four of the 13 tasks, and earns joint third place.
