Calle’s promotional sweater
Calle opens his presentation with a question: How is value measured, and who determines what is expensive and not expensive?
He explains that while working on the TV show Praktisk Info med Jon Almaas (‘Practical Information with Jon Almaas’), a viewer had gifted him a sweater that they’d knitted themself. Calle says that he was very pleased with the sweater, as it not only fit him, but was in a colour he really liked.
Calle has chosen to interpret the task in a ‘time = money’ way, emphasising how long it must have taken the woman to knit an entire sweater for him as a gift, and pointing out that the sweater is made out of merino wool, which is not inexpensive.
Calle also makes sure to accurately drop technical knitting terms into his presentation, while describing the work that has gone into making the sweater, before highlighting the fact that the name of the show, ‘Praktisk Info’, had been knitted into the front of the sweater, and that ‘PIMJA’ (an abbreviation of the full title of the show) had been knitted along each sleeve.
Atle compliments the sweater, but suggests that Calle likely does not wear it often. Calle then puts the sweater on, but agrees that he has only worn it once.
Atle awards Calle fourth place.
