Steve gets hooked

While initially searching for Patatas, Steve begins to unzip the door of the dome, leading Alex to step in and check whether he had read and understood all of the instructions (in the relevant episode of the official Taskmaster companion podcast, Steve explains that this was one of the first tasks he’d filmed, and that his head wasn’t fully in the game at this point). Steve responds by claiming that he was just making sure that the zip worked, then zips the door back up and relents to Alex that he’ll do the task “the hard way”.

Steve grabs the pole which is leant up against the dome, and notices that there is a hole in the side of the dome through which he can poke it. Considering how to get Patatas out, he remembers that she must come out through the hole at the top of the dome. He then sources a large metal hook from the shed and attaches it to the end of the pole. As he tries to hook Patatas with the pole, he makes the pun “C’mon Patatas, be bravas”, which Greg later highlights in the studio.

After a reminder from Alex that his head must not enter the dome, Steve manages to hook Patatas and then lift her up through the hole at the top of the dome, letting her slide down the outside before picking her up and walking off with her.

In the studio, it is revealed that Steve had completed the task in 2 minutes and 19 seconds, which wins him the task and 5 points.
