Episode synopsis

In this episode the contestants must bring in the best burstable thing, build the best volcano, work out what Alex is wearing, do the worst thing and make the best apology, and then get into two sleeping bags.

Title context

'Stuck in a mammal groove' was how Greg Davies described Joe Thomas' difficulties during the 'Work out what Alex is wearing' task.

Alternate Titles

  • On Denmark's TV2 Play streaming platform, this episode is titled 'Fanget i en pattedyrsskure', which translates as 'Trapped in a mammal shed'. The compound word 'pattedyrsskure' isn't one that's used in Danish, but its component words 'pattedyrs' and 'skure' mean 'mammal' and 'shed', respectively. Presumably they were trying to convey the same idea of being stuck on a certain train of thought.
  • On Finland's MTV Katsomo streaming platform, this episode is titled 'Jumittaa nisäkäsurassa', which translates as 'Stuck in a mammal rut'. [Translator credit: zador]
  • On Norway's Discovery+ Norge streaming platform, this episode is titled 'Fast i pattedyrstralten', which translates as 'Stuck in a mammal habit'. The word 'pattedyr' means 'mammal', and 'tralten' is an uncommon word meaning 'the habit'. Note: this Norwegian translation of the title only appears in the subtitles for the episode, whereas the episode title listed on the platform is the original English title. Assistant Intro

And here, a man whose name doesn't humiliate him anywhere near as much as his personality... It... is... oooh!... It's little Alex Horne!

    Taskmaster's Sign-off

So, what have we learnt today? We've learnt that no matter what disappointments life throws at you, relationships that don't last the course, ambitions unfulfilled, periods of utter loneliness, console yourselves that you've never stooped as low as entering a solitary grape as a prize. And Lou Sanders styled it out to win the episode. Well done to her and good night to you! Keep warm! Bye-bye!
