Episode 1: You should hang from your abdomen and power hand

Episode synopsis

In this season premiere episode, the contestants must duct-tape David to a wall, pack pappa’s duffel bag, catch the most monsters, make something spectacular happen at the pull of a rope, disadvantage themselves before placing a hat on Babben’s bust, and blindly navigate a non-existent obstacle course. Also, the contestants begin a season-long journey to attempt to be the one who swears the least.

Gina advises an awkwardly-taped David that “You should hang from your abdomen and power hand” in order to keep himself from falling, during her attempt at the ‘Duct tape David to a wall’ task.

Note: Leif & Billy is a comedy show about two dim and unemployed brothers living in Northern Sweden. Alfred plays Billy, while former contestant Klas Eriksson plays Leif.

The taxi driver from ‘c/o Segemyhr’: Olle Sarri.

Note: c/o Segemyhr was a late ‘90s / early ‘00s sitcom on TV4. Olle played Aton, a shy taxi driver with dreams of stardom.

‘Hey Baberiba’ with the family: Christine Meltzer.

Note: Hey Baberiba was a sketch comedy show which Christine co-created and starred in, and which often lampooned the Swedish royal family.

The fragrant madman: Jan Rippe.

Note: This is likely a reference to Jan’s membership of the comedy group and barbershop quartet collective Galenskaparna och After Shave (‘The Madness and After Shave’), of which episode guest Per Fritzell is also a member.

Episode prize

The prize in this episode is the opportunity to pull on the rope from the ‘Spectacular rope pull’ task, to reveal a mystery prize. It transpires that the other end of the rope is attached to Per Fritzell, reprising his role from Jan’s attempt at the task.
