Special synopsis

This single episode Christmas Special of Bäst i Test aired on the 20th of December 2024, featuring the contestants Pär Lernström, Sissela Benn, Hanna Dorsin, Samir Badran, and Klas Eriksson.

The contestants must extravagantly light a Christmas candle, eat above the average amount of sauerkraut, get as many gingerbread cookies through a sieve as possible, identify a mystery Santa Claus, serve julmust from the furthest distance, and be the second-to-last contestant to pop up out of their Christmas present.

A warm welcome to this extraordinary Christmas celebration, where we let five specifically-chosen contenders attempt what’s considered the opposite of a peaceful Christmas: Bäst i Test.

Contestant Intros

Here comes Santa's little helpers...

The show host’s show host: Pär Lernström.

Note: Pär is the host of several TV competition shows, including Swedish Idol, Sweden’s Got Talent, and Masterchef Sweden.

The most awesome one in ‘Grotesco’: Hanna Dorsin.

Note: Grotesco is a comedy group which also includes former Bäst i Test guest contestants Per Andersson and Emma Molin.

The one from ‘Leif & Billy’: Klas Eriksson.

Note: Leif & Billy is a comedy show about two dim and unemployed brothers living in Northern Sweden. Klas plays Leif, while season 10 contestant Alfred Svensson plays Billy.

Viktor’s best buddy: Samir Badran.

Note: Samir makes up one half of the singing duo Samir & Viktor, alongside fashion blogger Viktor Frisk.

Sune’s mother: Sissela Benn.

Note: Sissela played the mother of a young male character named Sune Andersson in a series of films based on the ‘Sunes universum’ (‘Sune’s universe’) series of books.

Assistant Intro

But do I smell straw in here? Oh yeah, the Christmas straw goat is here. And doesn’t he look like David Sundin?

Note: Babben calls David a ‘julbock’ (‘yule goat’), a traditional symbolic Christmas figure typically represented as an ornamental goat made from straw.

Special prize

The prize in this episode is a box of ‘Babben’s Liquid Christmas Dinner’, which is inspired by some of the contestants’ attempts at the ‘Get the most gingerbread through a sieve’ task, and purportedly contains everything one might expect from a traditional Swedish Christmas dinner.
