Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • As the first to be able to choose their weapon, Jonas picks what he believes is tape; he picks it up and realises that it’s actually fishing line. Mark corrects him once again: Jonas has actually picked up a spool of lace twine. As the last to be able to choose their food, Jonas chooses the aubergine. Jonas attempts to double the lace in on itself to try to make it more sturdy before attempting to saw through the aubergine. Eventually, Jonas either runs out of time or realises that it’s a futile effort, and puts his entire aubergine on one of the scales. Jonas' eggplant weighs 325g, and Simon points out that the difference in weight (another 325g) is still lower than Tobias' cauliflower weight difference. Lasse agrees, and Jonas comes fourth.
  • Tobias chooses the sword and the head of cauliflower. His first swing misses the mark and cuts off only a tiny bit of the cauliflower; presumably realising he’s already come last, Tobias takes a few more swings at the cauliflower. Tobias' cauliflower halves weigh 693g and 28g, for a difference of 665g. Tobias comes last.
  • Simon chooses the ping pong paddle and the sausage. The casing is tougher than he expected, but he is able to saw through it in the allotted time. Simon’s sausage halves weigh 374g and 371g, for a difference of 3g. Simon wins the task.
  • Sofie chooses the newspaper and the tart. She takes what she declares is the newspaper’s strongest page, and folds the newspaper in half to create a thick, blunt edge. She successfully pushes the newspaper through the tart. Sofie’s tart halves weigh 335g and 241g, for a difference of 94g. Sofie comes third.
  • As the last to be able to choose their weapon, Linda takes the drill. As the first to choose their food, Linda chooses the pickle. Linda’s pickle halves weigh 34g and 29g, for a difference of 5g. Linda comes second.
