Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Ida tells Olli that he’s going on an all-inclusive trip. Olli then sits in a deckchair by the small pool, while Ida manually pumps up an inflatable orca, which she then puts in the water. She also delivers an ice cold coke to him, along with and some sweets. She earns fourth place.
  • Einar drives Olli to Holmenkollbakken, a large ski jump facility in Oslo, from which he hopes to give Olli a stunning view of the surrounding area. However, when they get there, it turns out not be as impressive as he’d hoped, since the view is mostly blocked by sad-looking trees. He then runs out of time, during the drive back to the house, so he just drops Olli off at the side of the road and leaves him. He is not disqualified for not returning Olli to the house, but earns last place.
  • Solveig decides to take Olli on an inner journey, and so the pair lie down on the floor while she plays him a clip of the psychic Lilli Bendriss talking about her life. The clip turns out to be a lot more sexual than Solveig had anticipated, and they decide to just turn it off after a while. She earns third place.
  • Amir blindfolds Olli, before taking him on his journey. He rocks Olli on a rocking chair in the garden, to simulate being at sea. He then creates a scene where a girl says “hi” to Olli, then saws a piece of wood and makes a fading scream, as if the girl is falling to her death. He then puts the sawed plank into Olli’s hand, telling him that it had just floated up from the water, and that Olli had just heard the girl “die right in front of his ears”. Amir then throws a large stuffed guinea pig at Olli’s face, but tells him not to kiss it. He then plays another character who is apparently trying to get a bike out to sea. He also tickles Olli with a feather inside a horn, lights a match under Olli’s nose and, finally, pokes Olli’s hand with a corkscrew. He earns first place for his disorienting barrage on Olli’s senses.
  • Steinar gathers many house plants together in the study, to make the scene look like a tropical jungle. Steinar and Olli then both enter the room, holding rifles and wearing army helmets. Steinar acts out a scene from the Vietnam war, playing the part of an American soldier. He alerts Olli (who is playing the character of ‘Tommy’) to the presence of some enemies, and then throws a grenade, taking them out. Steinar is then shot by a sniper, and starts to go down dramatically, but decides after a short while that he’s actually fine. He earns second place for acting out his Vietnam war fantasy.
