Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!
- Espen brings in a birdbox that he tried to make with his children, which he says was painful in multiple ways: it cost him a lot of money to buy all the tools and supplies; the children lost interest halfway through; and then the family returned from holiday to find that a whole clutch of titmouse chicks had died inside it. Atle awards him third place for his suffering.
- Martha decides to create a painful moment on stage by having Atle ask her to do some simple multiplication in her head, from a maths exercise book aimed at children aged between 6 and 10. She fails miserably to multiply seven by six, but only earns fourth place for her embarrassment.
- Kristoffer has had his belly button pierced, and has hung a small picture of Atle from it, on a chain. Despite mutilating himself, he loses out to Live and earns second place.
- Henriette decides to go with the 'tastes bad' definition of the word used for 'painful' in the task, and brings in a bowl of the Portuguese dish, bacalao (a hot dish consisting of pieces of mackerel in a tomato-based sauce). She refers to it as 'warm mackerel in tomato' in reference to the fact that mackerel in tomato is usually eaten cold on bread in Norway. The audience find this amusing because most people would not consider the two dishes to be the same thing. Unfortunately for her, Atle loves bacalao, so he places her last.
- Live brings in Henriette's daughter, Ebba (who also appeared in the doppelganger task in the previous episode), who tells Henriette that she works too much, so she never gets to see her. She really plays up the role of the neglected child, stating that she wished there were a prize for being the best mum, so Henriette might show some interest, and then saying that she wished Live was her mother. Atle awards Live first place for her emotional manipulation.
