Task brief

The task brief is found hanging from a miniature frisbee golf goal, on a paved area converted into a minigolf course. The brief for the task is as follows:

Get 11 points.

The fastest team to get 11 points wins.

Your time starts now.

Task notes

  • At the base of the goal are various sporting accessories: a football, clubs, a dartboard with darts, a bowling ball bag, etc.
  • Other random items are present, such as a framed picture of a bird, some musical instruments, and a pile of hats. Some of these items have numbers on them.
  • There is also a board bearing the equation [(3x+1)/3] – [(4-3x)/6] = [(x-2)/4].
  • Points are earned if a participant praises either themself or their team-mate.

Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Images will be added later.

  • After Marko and Linnéa look at all of the items provided, wondering how points are earned, Marko declares that it’s likely easier to earn points than they think. He sets up the dartboard and throws a dart at it, but stops once he realises that darts points do not equal task points. Linnéa turns her attention to the items that have numbers written on them. The pair hold up items whose value adds up to 11, but this does not earn any points. After unsuccessfully trying to earn points by making 11 notes on each instrument, Linnéa realises that some of the numbered items have corresponding minigolf hole numbers. She takes the bowling ball bag over to the corresponding hole, and starts to hit it across the course, to Marko’s encouragement, which earns them a point. Linnéa takes another numbered item to its corresponding hole, but earns no points by repeating what she did with the bag. She wonders if she can just award Marko 11 points herself by her own rules, thus technically fulfilling the task. Marko agrees with Linnéa’s idea, and they earn another point. This causes the two to realise that points are earned by something they’ve said, and Marko repeats exactly what Linnéa said (“Good, thanks, I got it”), which earns them another point. While they are unable to pinpoint exactly what earns them points, they do realise that something in the combination of Linnéa awarding Marko a point, and Marko replying “Good, thanks, I got it” earns them points, so they continue that pattern until they reach 11 points. The two hug and walk away arm in arm, with Linnéa declaring that she hates the show, but also loves it, much like herself. Marko and Linnéa earn 11 points in 14 minutes and 22 seconds, and win the task.
  • Nikki looks around at all of the items, and asks David if she and Henrik are the ones who decide how points are earned. At David’s denial, Nikki picks up a ball and cup game and plays it with Henrik, wondering if scoring points in the game will also earn them task points. As they rally the ball back and forth, Henrik tells Nikki that she made a good catch, and this earns them a point. Henrik wonders why they earned a point, and Nikki believes that it is because they solved one of the many tasks laying around on the ground. The two turn their attention to the dartboard, and Nikki says she’ll throw the darts if Henrik holds the board. Henrik holds the dartboard in front of his face, but Nikki throws short, and the dart bounces off of his stomach. Henrik starts holding up random items, and Nikki wonders if wearing multiple items can earn them points (it does not). The two then make up their own game, in which Henrik holds the ball holder while Nikki throws plastic discs into it. This leads to them earning a point, which leads Henrik to believe that points are earned by doing things together. However, Henrik’s theory is disproven when the two of them singing together earns no points. At this time, David observes out that the two have managed to earn one point every ten minutes. Nikki then holds open the bowling ball bag while Henrik throws something into it, and this also leads to them earning a point. Henrik then holds a tray while Nikki throws a die onto it, which leads to another point. With no other ideas, Nikki and Henrik stick with the idea that throwing things into other things is what earns them points. When they only have a few points left to earn, Henrik realises that being complimentary while tossing items to each other often earns them points, so - with some heavy sarcasm - Henrik gives praise to Nikki while the two toss random items to each other. Henrik and Nikki finally earn 11 points in 40 minutes and 2 seconds, and lose the task.
  • Evelyn says that she believes that Nikki is creative and thinks things through, and that Henrik can find order in chaos, so she bets her points on them. As Nikki and Henrik do not win the task, Evelyn earns no points.
