Biography

Marko ”Markoolio” Lehtosalo (born 1 January 1975) is known as a singer, songwriter, actor and comedian.

Marko started his career after his co-worker Arjan Selami quit his job to pursue a music career. They re-wrote a song together titled Oh No which Marko had played before on the Swedish municipality of Nacka’s local TV channel, and that song then became the platinum-selling Sommar och Sol (Summer and Sun).

After a failed follow-up attempt with a similar song titled Drömmen om Finland (The Dream of Finland), his record label managed to eventually write another hit titled Vi Drar till Fjällen (We go to the mountains).

In 2001, Marko appeared in a children’s show called Dr Mugg, playing the titular character. That show aired between 2001 and 2005.

Throughout the years, Marko has presented Top Gear Sweden and Sweden’s Got Talent.

He’s also competed in Let’s Dance (Sweden’s version of Strictly Come Dancing), in which he beat Oscar Zia.
