Task brief

The task brief is propped up in one of the slots of a toaster on the table in the caravan. The brief for the task is as follows:

Move the caterpillar safely from the living room table to the leaf on the caravan table.

You may only use two items to capture and move the caterpillar, and you must not touch the caterpillar with your hands.

You have until the toaster has popped to choose your two items.

Only then may you capture the caterpillar.

The caterpillar must be safely moved before the microwave pings.

The person who successfully moves the caterpillar and looks after it the best wins.

Your time starts now.

Task notes

In the other slot of the toaster, there is a slice of bread.
Also on the table, there is a single leaf from a Swiss cheese plant.
A microwave is positioned on top of the fridge in the caravan, and has been preset to run for five minutes (to cook Mike’s lunch of a plastic bag full of ratatouille).
The caterpillar to be relocated takes the form of a long, segmented, green jelly with googly eyes and red lips stuck on one end, and antennae made from black pipe cleaners.
Mike depresses the lever to start the toaster as soon as the contestants have read the task brief. He then starts the microwave once the toaster has popped up.
