In this version, all of the cans except for one are filled with beans, and the contestants must find the single can containing potatoes, and spill the water from within it. The table in this version is not transparent, so the contestants cannot quickly solve it by looking at the cans from below. However, clues are provided to the location of the correct can through the use of coloured dots on the bottoms of some of them, and a diagram on the back of the task brief.

Task brief

The task brief is laid on top of a grid of cans on the table in the lab, and is held down by an old-fashioned, non-mechanical can opener. The brief for the task is as follows:

Spill the potato water.

Fastest wins.

Your time starts now.

Task notes

There are 144 cans on the table, all labelled as if they contain potatoes, though 143 of them actually contain beans.
The can which actually contains potatoes has a slightly different label on it, which features the word ‘rigtige’ (‘real’) above the word ‘kartofler’ (‘potatoes’).
The can containing actual potatoes is also surrounded by eight cans which have red dots on their bases. A clue to this is provided through a small diagram on the back of the task brief.
Next to the table, there is an empty bathtub.
