Write a song for your 13-year-old self.
Your song must incorporate your just-stated slang word and musical genre.
The song that reveals most about your 13-year-old self wins.
You have 45 minutes.

Task notes
- As each contestant enters the study, they find a music playback device on the table which would have been relevant during their teenage years: for Dave Hughes, it’s a record player; for Lisa McCune, it’s a boom box; for Tommy Little, it’s a discman; for Emma Holland, it’s an iPod Classic; and for Takashi Wakasugi, it’s an iPod Nano.
- Before the contestants read the task brief, Tom Cashman asks each of them what their favourite slang word was, and what their favourite genre of music was, when they were 13.
