In this version of the task, the contestants must attempt to fly a paper aeroplane through an oscillating bladeless fan on the stage in front of them, and are scored based on how quickly they do so. The contestants must also name each plane before they throw it, and there is a bonus point available for the plane with the best name.

Task brief

The brief for the task is as follows:

Fly a paper plane through this bladeless fan.

Each paper plane you make must have a name, and you must say it when it commences flight.

You must remain on your mat, and you cannot move your mat.

Fastest wins.

A bonus point will be given to the best-named plane.

Task notes

The contestants are lined up side-by-side in an arc on stage, each standing behind a plinth upon which there is a stack of coloured A4 paper.
In front of them all, in the centre of the stage, there is a bladeless, oscillating fan.
