Mastertask notes:

In this version of the task, the contestants must leave Mark’s ‘house’ after exactly 20 minutes. In addition to a small cuckoo clock attached to a tree outside which is showing the actual time, there is a 20-minute hourglass running in the room from the time the contestants enter.

Task brief

The task brief is laid on the table inside Mark’s ‘house’. The brief for the task is as follows:

Leave Mark’s house exactly 20 minutes after you entered.

Closest to the correct time wins.

During that time, you must write and say exactly 40 words.

The words must have fewer or the same number of letters as the previous word.

The time started when you entered Mark’s house.

Task notes

Also on the table, there is a clipboard with paper and a pen.
Mark’s house has been filled with various hourglasses (including one which runs for exactly 20 minutes), a sundial, and an analogue clock used to teach how to tell the time (along with its instructive flashcards).
On a tree trunk outside of the house, directly in view of the contestants while they are sitting at the table, a small cuckoo clock showing the actual time has been mounted.
