Task brief

The task brief is laid on top of a blue wooden box on a table in the dome. The brief for the task is as follows:

Completely fill the yellow box with sand.

Once you have touched a box, you must hold that box for the rest of the task.

Also on the table, there is an orange wooden box and a yellow wooden box.
The orange box appears to be full of sand, but actually has a second slightly smaller box inside it, occupying most of the volume. The smaller box contains a snooker ball, with the text ‘Living room’ written on it.
The blue box appears to be half full of sand, but it’s actually a small amount of sand on top of a false bottom, which is held in place on a structure mounted underneath the table. The blue box does not have a fixed bottom of its own, and it is much longer than it appears, descending through a hole cut into the table. All of this set-up is concealed beneath a red tablecloth.
On the table in the living room, there is a green box containing some sand, but it has holes in the bottom, so the sand drains out whenever it is moved. Also underneath this box, there is a piece of paper with the word ‘Shed’ printed on it.
In the shed, there is a plinth with a small plastic beach bucket upturned on it. Underneath this bucket, there is a pile of sand with a small wooden box in it. Also in the shed, there is a red box with the word ‘Sand’ painted on the front, but the word ‘Paper’ painted on the underside of the lid, revealing that it actually just contains a single sheet of sandpaper.
On a garden table between the shed and the caravan, there is a sand castle which has been made solid in some manner (presumably using cement).
On the stage in the garden, there is a large pile of sand, next to a shopping trolley, a tall plastic measuring cylinder, and a top hat, referencing Dara Ó Briain, Fern Brady, and John Kearns’ attempt at the ‘Put the most sand in the shopping trolley‘ task.
