Task briefs

The first task brief is presented to the contestants individually in the living room, where is propped up against an action figure version of Alex which is stood on a small turntable on the table. The second task brief is attached to a magnet on the end of a small telescopic fishing rod, next to the front steps of the house. The third task brief is laid on a tray on a plinth in the living room. The briefs for the task are as follows:

Write his superpower on the little clipboard.

You have two minutes.

Your time starts now.

Each team member must hook a duck.

Silently read the duck’s superpower, then use that superpower for the next task in 10 minutes from now.

At no point may you tell your team-mates your superpower.

Your time starts now.

Remove the most flour from the tray without touching flour with your hands or moving little, little Alex Horne.

If little, little Alex Horne moves at any point, you are disqualified.

You must take it in turns to remove flour, and you must employ your superpowers.

There’s a bonus point for the contestant who employs their superpower most effectively.

Most flour in the bowl wins.

You have a maximum of 15 minutes.

Task notes

The action figure of Alex is wearing a red cape to make him resemble a superhero, and is holding a small clipboard.
For the second part of the task, the contestants must remain standing behind a red line by the front steps of the house, while fishing a rubber duck from a small plastic bathtub on an oil drum, a couple of metres away on the driveway, using a telescopic fishing rod.
The ducks have been painted to resemble each contestant, and each has the superpower which that contestant had chosen previously written on the bottom.
Because the team of three folmed the task first, they had a free choice from all five ducks, and Maisie and Reece were then left only with the choice of Ania and Reece's ducks.
For the third and final part of the task, the action figure has been balanced on top of an upturned bowl of compacted flour, in the centre of a large silver tray positioned on a plinth in the middle of the living room. There is another bowl on a separate plinth for the contestants to collect their flour in.
