In this version of the task, the contestants are instructed to take the most surprising thing out of a bag. However, the objective of the task is essentially still to put something surprising into the given receptacle. The only real difference is that the contestants then reveal the item themselves, rather than the Taskmaster or their assistant doing it.

The task brief is delivered to the contestants through a hole in the roof of the dome, attached to the handle of a small umbrella suspended on fishing wire. The brief for the task is as follows:
Take the most surprising thing out of this bag.

- There is a floral handbag on a plinth in the centre of the dome, resembling the bag used by the film character Mary Poppins.
