Task brief

The task brief is laid on a model of the Taskmaster house, on a table in the lab. The brief for the task is as follows:

Make a bridge over the swimming pool.

You may only use the items on this table.

The highest self-supporting bridge wins.

The bridge must support the potato.

You have 20 minutes.

Your time starts now.

Task notes

Also on the table, there are some elastic bands, some uncooked spaghetti, some chewing gum, some matchsticks, some drinking straws, a deck of playing cards, and one large potato.
There is alsoa small model boat on the model, with the Spanish phrase ‘Debajo de la mesa’ painted on the side, meaning ‘Look under the table’.
There is a button on the side of the table, which illuminates a sign on the other side of the table, also telling the contestants to look underneath the table.
There is also a sign above the door of the lab, again telling the contestants to look underneath the table.
Strapped to the underside of the table, there are a variety of additional bridge building supplies, including some wood and tape.
