Attempts

Here's a brief description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on writing up some additional detail, though!

  • Nikolaj brings onions, pepper and knives from the kitchen. He chops the onions and rubs them on his face to induce tears. He is able to collect eight tears, and places third in the task.
  • Christian claims to have tear ducts in his mouth so that he can spit in the eggcup and claim that his saliva is tears. He proceeds to fill the eggcup to the brim with saliva. When challenged by Lasse, he admits that perhaps half of the eggcup's contents are saliva. Lasse rules that he will accept the contents of the eggcup as tears, if each tear is 49ml, giving Christian a count of just one tear, and placing him last in the task.
  • Lina is somehow able to just start crying for real, partially by not allowing herself to blink. She collects 22 tears and convincingly wins the task.
  • Ruben asks Mark to tickle him, and lies on the floor while this happens. Despite apparently being quite ticklish, this does not lead to any tears. He still earns fourth place in the task, though, beating Christian and his single 'mouth tear'.
  • Julie fills the measuring cylinder with water, and then pours it into Mark's eyes so she can collect it as 'tears'. She also cries some actual tears of her own out of laughter. The amount of tears she collects is not stated, but she earns second place in the task, so there must have been more than Nikolaj's eight.
