Pirjo takes a monologue-heavy walk

Pirjo misunderstands what the task is requiring of her, believing that she needs to continually speak cheerfully as she walks. As such, she dominates the conversation, speaking at Pilvi, rather than with her.

Pirjo claims that it is a lovely day for the two of them to spend time together, and then thanks Pilvi in English. She also says that not everyone enjoys walking, but it’s enough that she and Pilvi both enjoy it, so “fuck it” (in English).

While walking, Pilvi accidentally trips Pirjo with one of her poles, and apologises. Pirjo, overly-cheerful, says that she’s fine, apologises twice in English, and says she’s sorry that the stumble even occurred.

Later in their walk, Pirjo says that sausage (she uses the English word) hurts her stomach, and questions whether Pilvi has any stomach issues. Before Pilvi can respond, though, Pirjo pushes forward, claiming that Pilvi appears to be the kind of person who would have stomach issues.

Pirjo eventually ends her walk, saying “Thank you for the travelling company”.

In the studio, Jaakko notes that Pirjo’s walk had been “monologue-heavy”, and Pirjo explains that she’d spent most of the task believing that she just had to keep talking in a cheerful manner.

When Jaakko jokes that Pirjo’s definition of “having a conversation” apparently involves someone just listening to Pirjo talk, Pirjo argues that such an event would still count as a conversation.

It is revealed that Pirjo and Pilvi had walked 483 steps. However, despite the fact that Pirjo had ended the walk with the incorrect phrase, and had used more than five English words, Jaakko awards her first place – but 3 points – as she had been the closest to the target step count of 382.
