Joonas’ new “old” friends

Joonas dashes out of the playhouse and towards the driveway, excited at the chance to once again go for a drive as part of a task. Joonas leaves the mansion property and drives in the surrounding neighbourhood, soon coming across two women walking a dog.

Joonas parks the car and stops the women, introducing himself and explaining that he is filming a task for Suurmestari, and asks if they will pretend to be his friends for a video that he will shoot on his phone.

Joonas then formally introduces himself to the women (Suski and Sanni) and their dog (Nemo), and they shoot a video, which Joonas runs back to show Pilvi at the playhouse.

In the video, Joonas claims to have run into his “old friends” Suski, Sanni, and Nemo. Whatever else is said in the video is not shown – though, in the studio, Joonas tells Pamela that he’d had the women lie for him, and agree that they’d known each other for a long time. He ends the video by claiming that he’s thinking about getting a dog (which may come as a surprise to his cat) to take jogging with him.

In the studio, Joonas elaborates on his strategy: he believes a good sign of friendship is when people seem like they’d always known each other, and that was what he had tried to do with Suski and Sanni, calling the entire experience “powerful”, and claiming that “a whole history” had been quickly created between the three of them in that moment.

Jaakko awards Joonas third place, but acknowledges that Joonas had been so unlike the civil servant that he has been typecast as throughout the season, and his argument so “convincingly convincing”. that he also earns a bonus point.
