Stian breaks out his comedy chops

Stian does not spot the small print on the task brief.

He searches the shed, and emerges with a bowling ball, which he proclaims to be “perfect spinning material”. To prove this claim, he drops it into a plastic plant pot, and is excited when the ball becomes wedged inside of it.

Stian overturns his conjoined bowling ball and plant pot, and works to attach a wooden rocking stool to the bottom of it. He stops in the middle of his hard work to ask Olli if he is sweaty. When Olli replies that he is not, and inquires whether Stian is, Stian affirms that he definitely is, as he is fiddling with his ‘snurrebass’. He looks at Olli and laughs, then role-plays a bit in English, saying, “Excuse me, sir, could you help me screw my snurrebass?”.

He continues his comedy routine, saying that as his spinning top has been constructed with a stool, one should not trust the ‘snurrebass’ (‘stol’ as a noun means ‘chair/stool’, but the word is also a conjugation of the verb ‘stole’ [‘trust’]).

As Stian tapes a hula hoop around the bottom of the rocking stool, he asks Olli how much time he has left, and Olli informs him that he has spent 47 minutes constructing his top. When Stian exclaims that he has not spent nearly an hour on the task, Olli clarifies that he has only actually spent 12 minutes and 30 seconds on the task, but has amassed 35 minutes’ worth of penalties.

Stian asks Olli if the penalties have anything to do with saying ‘snurrebass’, and he then retrieves the task brief. After re-reading it, he finally finds the small print. In an attempt to soften the blow, Olli says that at least Stian had made some good ‘snurrebass’ jokes.

In the studio, Stian admits that he’d gotten carried away with the ‘snurrebass’ jokes, as it was the first time he’d managed to make Olli laugh during filming, and he had been encouraged by it (believing ‘snurrebass’ jokes to be Olli’s “Achilles heel”).

Atle awards Stian joint last place.
