Siri attended carpentry school

While measuring the space in the archway leading from the study to the stairs, Siri reveals that she once attended carpentry school, and had won a bridge-building competition while she was there.

She overlaps sheets of gingerbread on top of each other, musing that most of the contestants will likely try to stick the edges of individual sheets together, creating much weaker bridges.

At some point, Siri’s bridge plan changes, as instead of running the span of the archway in the study, she balances one end of her bridge on the fireplace mantel, and the other end on the nose of the taxidermy Norwegian red deer, next to the staircase.

Siri is easily able to walk underneath her bridge, which then collapses almost immediately afterwards.

In the studio, Atle tells Siri that her bridge was by far the most beautiful, until it collapsed. Siri replies that is often the case with Norwegian bridges, in response to which Atle questions whether she had been involved with Tretten Bridge (which collapsed in 2022, after only 10 years of use). Siri jokes that, yes, she was the designer.

Siri builds a 150cm bridge, and earns second place.
