Nick’s happy snake
Having read the task brief, Nick is immediately concerned about the presence of the horses, asking Alex “how friendly” they are. Before he can even start his attempt, the herd of horses begins to head directly towards him, leading Nick to ask “will they go for me more because I’m dressed as Dracula?”.
He manages to wheel the shopping bag full of dots away from the herd of horses, but they presumably continue to follow him, since he is later seen saying “Hey horsey. You okay?”
Having finished his drawing, he jogs away from Alex across the field, his cape flowing in the wind.
In the studio, Nick admits that he was concerned about the horses following him around, and suggests that maybe they’d thought there was food in the wheely shopping bag. Alex states that the production team had also been worried about them, claiming that they had no idea the horses were going to be there.
Nick’s join-the-dots images is revealed first in the studio, and appears to merely be a very long squiggly line. Greg guesses that it is meant to depict “an umbrella that won’t open”, and then opens the floor to the audience, who guess “A balloon” and “Oboe”. After Nick confirms that none of these guesses are correct, Greg asserts that “The scope of guesses tells you how shit it is”.
Nick then suggests that when he reveals what his drawing actually depicts, Greg might kick himself. He then reveals that it’s “just a very happy snake”, noting that “that top bit is its head, and it’s smiling.”
When Greg observes the scale of the drawing, and asks Nick what he’d been thinking about, during his very long walk, Nick admits that he definitely wasn’t thinking about the task.
When Alex asks Greg which drawing is the worst, Greg immediately names Nick, and Alex responds with “Yes. Correct.” Nick therefore earns just 1 point.
