Identify the contents of the gloves

Mastertask notes:

In this version of the task, there are nine rubber gloves for the contestants to shake hands with and identify the contents of. They are permitted to cut off a total of three fingers and a thumb, using a pair of scissors. They must then identify the name of the person spelt out by the first letter of the contents of each glove. The gloves are mounted across the fence panels along points in the letters ‘A’ and ‘H’, providing an additional clue to the identity of the person.

Task brief

The task brief is held by a mannequin hand, which has been attached to the first of three fence panels, set up in front of the caravan. The brief for the task is as follows:

Work out who you are shaking hands with.

You must only shake hands with the hands, and you may not handle the hands in any other way.

You may chop off a total of three fingers and one thumb, but if you set off the health and safety emergency alarm, you are disqualified.

Also, you may not look around, over, under or through the fence.

Best hand identification wins.

You have a maximum of 20 minutes.

Task notes

The mannequin hand also has a pair of scissors and a piece of chalk on a string hanging from its fingers.
Below the mannequin hand, there is a chalkboard with nine numbered horizontal lines drawn on it (the first part of each line is drawn in red, rather than white, indicating that the first letters written on each line are of interest).
Spaced out across the three fence panels, there are nine yellow washing up gloves poked through holes cut into the wood, each of which is filled with a different thing. At the end of the task, it is revealed that the gloves are arranged along points in the letters ‘A’ and ‘H’ (Alex Horne’s initials).
The contents of the gloves, which when correctly identified and written on the chalkboard in the correct order will spell out ‘Alex Horne’, are as follows: Acorns, Lipsticks, Eggs (scrambled), Xylophone, Hand (a member of the production crew, Clarenz, is stood behind the fence, with their hand in the glove), Onions, Rum, Nail (fake nails), and Eggs (soft-boiled).
Although it was never triggered, the health and safety emergency alarm presumably would have sounded if anyone had attempted to cut off any of the fingers of the glove containing a real human hand.
