Complete an objective while trying to avoid being spotted by the Taskmaster's assistant

  • In this task the contestants have to achieve a goal while trying to avoid being seen by the Taskmaster's assistant, who alternatively surveys the scene and looks away, on a predictable schedule.
  • In some cases, this is mechanically controlled (e.g. buy having the assistant sit in a hunting blind which is on a turntable).
  • In other cases, the assistant must avert their gaze on a set schedule, and a sound cue is used to let the contestant know when it is safe to move.
  • In most versions, the contestant's attempt ends as soon as the assistant spots them.
  • However, there has now been one instance where they instead must return to a given starting point, and try again.

Every eight seconds, Paul must film his feet for four seconds. The contestants' attempts are not over if Paul manages to film them. Instead, they must return to the mat from which they began, and try again. The winner is the person who manages to Pat him on the back the fastest.
