Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!
- Solveig brings in a set of Grandiosa (frozen pizza) brand cutlery. She says it is only enough for 5.5 people because one knife is missing. She bought it from Finn (a Norwegian equivalent to eBay), for around 600 kroner (c£45). Atle acknowledges that no-one eats Grandiosa with cutlery. Solveig also mentions that it was very hard to find. When Einar asks why she was looking for it in the first place, she says she thought it would be fun to eat with. She says it seemed like a good idea until she received them and realised it wasn’t even an idea. She says she has never used the cutlery, and hasn’t even mentioned it to her husband. She earns first place.
- Amir brings in the same piece of artwork as he did for episode 1’s prize task. He acknowledges that he didn’t get many points for it (he earned 3rd place), even though when he brought it in he thought it was a good idea. Since he won the first episode, he also won his own prize back. Atle says that the fact he is now putting it up as a prize again suggests that he is just trying to get rid of it. However, the artwork does better this time around, securing Amir second place.
- Einar brings in ‘Einar Tørnquist’s Who’s The Tallest?’, which is a game that he says took him 20 hours to make. He admits that it’s not really a game, but a set of laminated flashcards with countries on one side, and their highest mountain peaks on the other. He says he made it as a gift for his friend Pål, when they were going on a long bus trip in Central Asia. Pål apparently didn’t want the gift, so Einar says that it clearly wasn’t a good idea after all. However, Amir states that he thinks Einar will make a lot of money out of it. Einar earns last place in the task, though.
- Steinar brings in a box of honey puff cereal, explaining that his prize submission is the opening mechanism of the box. He demonstrates how he tries to open the box by pulling the central flap on the top, causing the box to rip, and providing only a small hole to reach the cereal through. He then demonstrates how he has to rip off the top of the box to actually gain access to the cereal. He admits that he’s never tried to pull the flap more carefully but argues that, if there is a flap, then it should just work. Additionally, he argues that the way to open the bag of cereal itself is also unclear, and then proceeds to tear it open clumsily, spilling cereal all over the stage. Atle shares Steinar’s cereal grievances, and so awards him third place.
- Ida brings in an unfinished baby’s sweater, which she had been knitting for her colleague, Erik Follestad (season 3 contestant). She says she had intended to give to him when he became a father, and had started knitting it the previous December, but it remained unfinished, and the child was already 3 months old. She says that she forgot, when she started the project, that she hates needlework, and has no patience. Atle suggests that she could have just given it to Erik in its unfinished state, because it's the thought that counts. She admits that she has given up on it. Einar promises that he will give it to Erik, if he wins. Ida earns fourth place.
