Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Jonas stands next to the decorating station and flings ingredients on the cake as it passes him by; in this manner, he is able to get some coloured frosting on it as well as an entire strawberry. He then sprays whipped cream on top of the cake, topping the whole thing off with a few marshmallows and two candles. Jonas wants to light the candles, so while he tries lighting them as the cake passes, he ultimately takes them off of the cake to light them. When trying to put the lit candles back, Jonas accidentally destroys most of his cake, leaving him with a plate that primarily consists of half of the bottom of the cake and some coloured frosting. Jonas comes fourth.
  • Tobias starts by jumping on the centre of the rotating platform (so his ingredients travel at the same inertia as the cake) and sprays some whipped cream in the cake’s direction; this does not work particularly well. Tobias then decides to make a cake on the decorating table (there are additional cake layers on the table), then attempt to get it onto the rotating cake. Tobias' cake has a lot of strawberries and powdered sugar, and what appears to be liquorice laces. Tobias manages to get the plate with his cake on it onto the rotating platform; while the plate stays on the platform, the cake slides off. Tobias spends the rest of his time trying to get his cake onto the plate. Out of time, Tobias gets back onto the centre of the platform, has Mark throw him a few of the decorations, and declares himself a cake. While posing, he loses his balance and causes the entire platform to fall over. Tobias comes last.
  • After trying a few times to throw ingredients on the cake, Sofie loads her pockets with some ingredients while carrying others, and jumps onto the centre of the rotating platform. This causes the platform to fail and stop turning. She then realises that the task dictated that she is forbidden from “fiddling with the apparatus”, and she pushes the platform in an attempt to get it spinning again; this causes the cake to fall off of the platform completely. Sofie declares that the cake moved itself, and starts decorating it with icing, marshmallows, gummy bears, and candles, topping it all off with strawberry laces and whipped cream. Sofie is initially disqualified for fiddling, until Mark reads the definition of ‘fiddle’ [‘pille’] - which centres around absent-minded finger work – at which point Lasse reluctantly accepts that she did not fiddle. Sofie comes second.
  • Simon begins his task attempting to bypass the word ‘fiddle’, declaring that if someone were to throw a wheelbarrow at someone else, that someone else would not declare that they had been fiddled with. Simon throws a wheelbarrow at the platform; this stops the platform, and somehow manages not to knock off the cake. Simon makes a multi-layered cake, filled with whipped cream, marshmallows, and strawberries – even making a face on the top layer with icing and blueberries – before declaring that he can do better. Simon disappears for a bit – presumably realising that since task time limit was given in rotations, and the platform was no longer rotating, he had infinite time - and returns with what is clearly a professionally-made cake, to which he adds some marshmallows and strawberries. Simon is initially disqualified for fiddling, until Mark reads the definition of ‘fiddle’ [‘pille’] - which centres around absent-minded finger work – at which point Lasse reluctantly accepts that he did not fiddle. Simon wins the task.
  • Linda grabs a shovel out of the shed and knocks the cake off of the platform. She transfers the cake to the decorating station on top of the shovel (presumably she believes that touching the cake results in disqualification), and proceeds to empty all of the bowls of toppings onto the cake before covering it all in whipped cream and some kind of fruit sauce (making sure to use the fruit sauce to decorate Mark’s hand as well). Linda is initially disqualified for fiddling, until Mark reads the definition of ‘fiddle’ [‘pille’] - which centres around absent-minded finger work – at which point Lasse reluctantly accepts that she did not fiddle. Linda comes third.
