Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Amir immediately starts running out of the grounds of the house and onto the neighbouring streets, where he asks people if they’ve seen a finish line. Eventually, he calls Olli on his phone and asks where the finish line is, and then proceeds to run straight there. He spends 12.5 minutes on the task, and earns second place.
  • Einar tries looking out through some of the windows of the house, to spot the finish line, but is unable to easily identify the bright red banner due to his colour-blindness. He walks around the garden for a while, seeming very confused and asking, “Did the others understand this?” (thus coining the episode title). He does not complete the task, and so receives no points.
  • Ida stands at the start line for a while, processing the fact that Olli must be standing 100m away, in some direction. She goes upstairs in the house and looks out of a window, where she spots the red banner in the distance. She then runs out of the house and towards the finish line, reaching it after 9 minutes and 49 seconds, and earning first place.
  • Steinar runs around the house and the surrounding area, searching for the finish line. He also searches inside the house, at one point entering the lab, where it appears that the production team are setting up the ‘Complete the puzzle’ task shown in episode 2. Eventually, he spray paints the word ‘finish’ onto a beach towel, and hangs it between two trees, to make his own finish line. He crosses his finish line, and states that he has definitely run at least 100m while searching. However, Atle awards him no points for his creativity.
  • Solveig walks around the house and its neighbourhood, looking for the finish line. She spends a long time hanging around in a certain area of the neighbourhood, just a few metres away from where the finish line is, but does not spot it. Eventually, she returns to the starting line and counts 100 steps away from it, to estimate a distance of 100 metres. She then sprays a finish line of her own onto the ground, which she crosses. In the studio, she claims that one of the people she spoke to while trying to find the real finish line had lied to her. Atle awards her no points.
