Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Upon reading the task brief, Steinar immediately picks the bead up, places it in the glass, and says “finished”. He completes the task in less than 2 seconds, and earns first place.
  • Amir picks up the bead, and holds it above the glass, while re-reading the task. He then carefully puts his hand fully into the glass before dropping the bead and saying “finished”. He completes the task in 14 seconds, and earns fourth place.
  • Einar picks the bead up, puts it in the jar, and says “finished”, all while looking confused at how simple it was. He completes the task in 9 seconds, and earns third place.
  • Ida is cautious for a moment, but then drops the bead into the glass and says “finished”. She completes the task in 8.7 seconds, and earns second place.
  • Upon reading the task brief, Solveig is instantly anxious and distressed, shaking her head in confusion. She states that she probably isn’t meant to just pick up the bead and put it in the jar, and then waves her hands cautiously about, before going back to re-read the task brief. She works through the instructions step-by-step, establishing that she must, indeed, first put the bead in the glass. She starts to pick up the bead, while confirming to herself that the time does indeed end, when it is in the glass, and she has said “finished”. She then starts to put her hand into the glass, while confirming that she has just one try. She then lets go of the bead, very close to the bottom of the glass, before saying “finished” with a look of pure confusion and doubt on her face. Solveig takes over 40 seconds to complete the task, and earns last place.
