Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Einar brings in his phone, to share how much time he had spent playing Candy Crush. He reveals that he had reached level 5,042 and had spent around 1,200 hours on it, which is equated to around 70% of a full year of working a full-time job. He earns first place.
  • Steinar brings in a pile of unpaired socks, which he says take way too much time to match and pair. He shares that he lives in a house with five other people, and finds sock-pairing very tedious and boring. He earns third place.
  • Ida brings back in her baby chicken, Anton, which she revealed she had hatched for the ‘Create life’ task, in the previous episode. She explains how she had spent most of her summer acquiring the incubator, incubating the eggs, waiting for Anton to hatch, and then looking after him. Atle awards her fourth place since, although she’d spent a lot of time on it, he didn’t consider that time spent to have been ‘too much’, given the result.
  • Amir brings in a series of drawings and paintings with 1 krone coins stuck to them, which were part of a project he had been working on, and from which he had previously brought in an example as his prize submissions for episode 1 (as ‘Something that does not get the respect it deserves’) and episode 4 (as ‘Something that seemed like a good idea’). He earns last place from Atle, who is apparently getting tired of Amir bringing his coin artworks in.
  • Solveig brings in a recorder which she’d owned since 1978, and which is visibly worn around the mouthpiece due to the extent of her practice , over the years. She demonstrates her skill with the instrument by performing a little ditty, to which everyone starts clapping along. She earns second place.
