Task brief

The contestants receive the task brief in the grounds of the Taskmaster house, between two bathtubs, which are about nine metres apart. The brief for the task is as follows:

Relocate the water in this bath to that bath.

You may not tamper with your belt.

Most relocated water wins.

Your time starts now.

Task notes

  • The bathtubs' plugs are connected with a heavy chain, threaded through a thick leather belt, which the contestants are instructed to put on.
  • One bathtub (identified as 'this' by a sign hanging over its side) is full of water, while the other (identified as 'that') is empty.
  • Scattered around on the ground in the surrounding area are a variety of vessels (buckets, coolers, etc.) which can be used to hold and move water, but they are all just out of reach to the contestants, while they are wearing the belt and the chain is still connected to the bathtubs at both ends.

Attempts

Here's a brief description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on writing up some additional detail, though!

  • Chris filled up several receptacles and put them next to 'that' bath so he could put the plug in at the end and easily pour in the receptacles' water. He relocated 68.2 liters of water, receiving 4 points.
  • Josh moved 'that' bath to 'this bath' so that he could connect the two baths up once the 'this' plug was unplugged. He relocated 75.5 liters, receiving 5 points.
  • Justine did not realise that the plug in the 'that' bath had come out so kept pouring water into it until 'this' bath was empty. Despite this she still managed to put a whole bucket of water in the bath, relocating 4 liters and receiving 2 points.
  • Kura tried blocking the bath drain pipes that the water was leaking out of until she could find the plugs, not realising it was at the ends of the chain. She managed to relocated 12.7 liters of water, receiving 3 points.
  • Paul realised that the plugs were at the end of the chains but panicked and got in a knot, causing the plugs to keep coming out. By the time he had worked out the plugs, he could only relocate 351 millilitres, receiving 1 point.
