Attempts
Here's a brief description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on writing up some additional detail, though!
- Dara chose a dog leash as a tail, and prepared by counting steps so he could march to the tail station and then to the tiger. Whilst his method did mostly work, he did have to crawl on the floor to find the tail station. He pinned his tail on the tiger in 3 minutes, earning second place.
- Sarah chose a flower garland as a tail, and counted steps along the route to the tail station, but forgot to do the same for the route to the tiger. She pinned her tail on the tiger after 9 minutes and 40 seconds, earning fourth place.
- Munya chose a pipe-cleaning brush as a tail (though he believed it was a toilet brush, for some reason), and created a path for himself to follow using rope and pipes. He followed his path perfectly, and rammed the brush up the tiger's backside after 2 minutes and 6 seconds, earning first place.
- Fern chose a bunch of flowers as a tail, but opted not to do any preparation for the tail-pinning part of the task. Instead, she wandered blindly around the garden, trying to find the tail station and then the tiger. She pinned her tail on the tiger in 13 minutes and 53 seconds, earning last place. In the studio, she indicated that she had hoped to used echo location to find her way around, but she couldn't recall the name of that method, so said "the one that bats do" instead, thus coining the episode of the title.
- John chose a black feather boa as a tail, and prepared by laying string from the house to the tail station, and from the tail station to the tiger. Despite his plan, John struggled to find his tail, or his second piece of string, and ended up feeling his way to the tiger. He pinned his tail on the tiger in 8 minutes and 12 seconds, earning third place.
