Task brief

The task brief is attached to the handle of a sausage-making machine in the kitchen. The brief for the task is as follows:

Make a kabanos.

You may only use eight ingredients.

Each ingredient should start with a letter from the word ‘kabanos’.

You have five minutes to order your ingredients, and 20 minutes to prepare your sausage.

Tastiest sausage wins.

You may not order sausage.

Your time starts now.

Task notes

Also on the table, there is a plate with some sausage casing on it.
Near the table, there is a chalkboard with the letters ‘KABANOSS’ written down the left-hand side (it’s not known why they’ve added another ‘S’).
A kabanos is a long, thin, dry Polish sausage. They presumably chose to specify this type of sausage because the generic Swedish word for ‘sausage’ would be ‘korv’, which is way too short for this task.
Swedish chef (and one of the judges on the Swedish version of Masterchef) Markus Aujalay is brought in as a guest judge to rank the contestants’ sausages.
