Task briefs
The first task brief is attached to the closed door of the shed. The second task brief is presented to the contestant who chooses to stand in the middle square. The briefs for the task are as follows:
Gather five objects per person, which you’ll need for the second part of the task.
You have three minutes.
Your time starts now.
Move as much soup as possible from one pot to the other.
You may only use your own tools.
You may not leave your area or move the pots.

Task notes
- After the contestants have collected their five items each, from in and around the shed, they take them to a nearby area of grassed common land, where a row of three squares has been marked out using stakes and striped caution tape.
- At each end of the staked-out grid, there is a large soup pot, covered with fabric. One of the pots is full of what appears to be minestrone soup, and the other is empty.
- The contestants get to choose for themselves which square they will complete the task within, along with the items they have pre-selected for themselves, before the second task brief is read.
