Task brief
The task brief is presented in a large golf hole in a small putting green on the driveway. The brief for the task is as follows:
Get a hole-in-one.
Hit one of the objects with one of the other objects.
If you choose the same combination as someone else, you’re disqualified.
You must shout ‘Fore!’ before your attempt for it to count.
The one who makes a hole-in-one from the furthest distance wins.
Only correct strikes count.
You have 10 minutes.
Your time starts now.
Task notes
- David is sat on his umpire’s chair behind the putting green.
- Surrounding the golf hole, there are various ‘balls’, including: an American football, a plastic ball pit ball, a wiffle ball, what appears to be a small potato, a tennis ball, a golf ball, a ping pong ball, and what appears to be some sort of small melon.
- This task bears similarities to the ‘Get a hole-in-one’ task (which had the objective of getting a hole-in-one from as far away as possible, but gave the contestants completely free choice over what to use as the club, ball, and hole), the ‘Strike your chosen item as far as possible with your chosen club’ task (which involved a choice of club and ball from a limited selection, but the objective was to hit the ball as far as possible), and the ‘Get the ball in the hole in as few strokes as possible’ task (in which the contestants had free choice from a large selection of clubs, but were disqualified if they chose the same one as someone else). Given that it is slightly different from all of these tasks, and certainly not notably more similar to any of them than the others, it is categorised here as original.
