Mastertask notes:
In this version of the task, the contestants must choose whether to pinch, protect, or plunder, and end up with the most balls. Points are awarded on a scale of 1 to 5, based on who has the most balls remaining.

Task brief

The brief for the task is as follows:

Pinch, protect, or plunder.

If you choose to pinch, you may pinch one point from the person you choose.

If you choose to plunder, you may plunder all the points of the person you choose.

If you choose to protect, you cannot be plundered, but you cannot protect from a pinch.

Most points wins.

Task notes

  • The contestants are lined up side-by-side on stage, each standing behind a plinth, upon which there is a cloth bag with a dollar sign printed upon it, and a red drawstring.
  • On the floor next to each plinth, there is a small whiteboard and a marker pen for the contestants to record their choice of action for each round.
  • The game is played over three rounds, and each contestant begins the game with three orange table tennis balls in their bag (each ball representing one in-game point).
