Episode synopsis

In this episode, the contestants must: complete a series of mini-tasks, starting as late as possible; invent something that benefits humanity; pinch, protect, or plunder salmon; survive a legally distinct wooden block game as long as possible; follow David’s instructions; and draw items on a rotating canvas.

Title context

Christine Meltzer tells David “You are named Baloo today” during her attempt at the ‘Legally distinct block game’ task, assigning him his first new nickname as dictated by the instructions on one of the blocks.

Taskmaster Intro

Set yourselves comfortably in front of the TV and listen carefully, now. I’m saying this only once: a warm welcome to Bäst i Test, the programme that makes molehills of mountains and water of wine.

Contestant Intros

Five brave fighters are at our disposal in tonight's battle, and they are...
The obsessive oracle: Gina Dirawi.
The obscure original: Alfred Svensson.
The obligatory opportunist: Olle Sarri.
The wondrous word artist: Christine Meltzer.
The obdurate optimist: Jan Rippe.

Assistant Intro

This program also requires someone who weighs and measures. The only one who has taken this on and has it as his whole identity is, as is well known, David Sundin.

Taskmaster's Sign-off

What have we learned today? Well, the fastest does not always win, and Poop-a-Doo is “da shit” for dog owners!

Notes on discrepancies

  • Based on the scoreboard shown at the end of the episode, and that fact that only six tasks were shown, it appears that there was an extra team task shown in the studio which was won by Christine, Gina and Olli, but then edited out for the broadcast. This has been confirmed by one of the producers of the show.

Guests

Jonas Eriksson

Jonas Eriksson appears as the guest judge during the ‘Invent something that benefits humanity’ task, and then becomes the third team member for the team of two in the final ‘Draw an object on a rotating canvas’ task.
