In this version of the task, the contestants must aim to be the third person to stop counting beans. Those who stop counting beans second and fourth earn 3 points each, and those who stop counting first and last are disqualified. There are also 2 bonus points on offer to whomever counts the most beans.

Task brief

The task brief is laid on the table in the lab. The brief for the task is as follows:

Congratulations, you’re hired!

You have one hour to count as many beans as possible before you quit to start your new job.

You can’t be the first to say goodbye, nor the last.

If you’re the third one to say goodbye, you get 5 points.

If you’re second or fourth, you get 3 points.

If you’re first or last, you get no points.

The task ends when you say ‘I want to quit’.

There are 2 bonus points for whoever counts the most beans.
